Oak Estate Winery Wedding Summerland BC- Calvin + Ann - Vancouver Wedding Videographer

Calvin + Ann were married at the Oak Estate Winery in Summerland BC.

The day started just as you’d expect in a place called Summerland. Sun beating down with a beautiful breeze off the lake, rustling the leaves in the vineyard, it was what everyone dreams about.

They got ready separately in the main house, Ann in a room with windows showing the 360 degree view of the lake and grapes, and Calvin just below in the games room, and everyone was only smiles for the day to come.

They had their first look in the vineyard, tears were shed, and their two beautiful fur babies Boomer and Bison crashed and a had a first look of their own, the family was together.

They read their vows privately to each other out near where the ceremony would take place, and had us all in tears behind the lenses.

The guests started the shorty walk to the ceremony space cliffside through the vines, everyone in high spirits, dressed in their best clothes.

And then the ceremony started.

We all felt the energy shift as the wind became freezing cold, and the skies became black as Calvin walked to the end of the aisle.

Everyone started looking at each other with worried looks.

As Ann came down the aisle, TORRENTIAL rain ensued, followed by thunder, lighting, rainbows, and some of the craziest sideways hail that we’ve ever seen.

The guests were soaked, Calvin and Ann huddled under an umbrella, and us, the photographers, and the DJ panicked as we tried to protect all of our gear from the elements.

But all the while everyone was laughing.

The rain and hail ended just in time for them to come down the aisle with a rainbow behind them.

Guests shuttled away to change their clothes during cocktail hour, and the reception was beautiful. From their grand entrance ending with sabering bubbly, to there awesome performative first dance, and finishing the night off with surprise karaoke provided by the DJ, as an ode to their first date.
